Beyond the surface: Breaking the cycle

Updated: Mar 12

For years, I was trapped in a toxic cycle I didn’t even realise I was in. My undiagnosed ADHD made everyday life feel overwhelming. Racing thoughts, impulsivity, and emotional highs and lows that I couldn’t explain. To cope, I turned to drinking and drug use; a temporary escape that only fuelled the chaos in my mind. The more I drank, the harder it became to manage my emotions, and the more reckless my decisions became. It was a cycle of self-destruction - one that kept me stuck in toxic environments, unhealthy relationships, and a constant state of survival. I wasn’t just battling addiction; I was battling an invisible force within me that I didn’t understand. It took stepping back, recognising the patterns, and finally getting the clarity I needed to break free.

If you’ve ever felt trapped in a cycle you can’t break, know that you’re not alone, and you don’t have to stay stuck. Awareness is the first step toward change. Take a moment to reflect on your patterns, your choices, and what truly serves you. Ready to start your journey to clarity and healing? Let’s break the cycle together. #BreakTheCycle #knowyourselfgrowyourself #motivation #toxicrelationships
